Ladies Day Rules
LADIES DAY Regulations 2025
It is the responsibility of each participant to protect the rest of the players in the competition by ensuring your playing partners follow the rules of golf and mark the appropriate score.
SEASON START: Ladies Day will commence Thursday, May 8 and will conclude with a final nine-hole closing event and meal in late September. There is no commitment to golf every week but you must be a member of Berwick Heights Golf Course.
ENTRY FEES: An annual fee of $30 cash is collected during the first week played. The annual fee is returned to the Ladies Day group through year-end prizes and Closing Day meal subsidies. Optional games and draws are available.
FLIGHTS: Participants have the opportunity to play 9 or 18 holes during the morning or afternoon flights. All participants must play with at least one other registered Ladies Day golfer.
The morning flight typically starts at 8:30 am with sequential tee times until 9:30. Participants sign up via email response and are assigned a tee time and player group. This flight is perfect for ladies who like to play in the morning with a variety of Ladies Day golfers.
The afternoon/early evening flight allows greater flexibility. Participants reserve tee times with their chosen playing partner(s) or as an add-on player with other Ladies Day golfers. Reservations are made through the Pro Shop or Chronogolf. Member names must accompany reservations. This later flight encourages ladies who can’t play in the morning and are without a playing partner to add their names to an existing group of Ladies Day members as space permits.
SCORING: Unless modified by Ladies Day Local Rules, play will follow the Rules of Golf. All holes must be putted-out (no gimmes). Ready golf is strongly encouraged. If a participant golfs in both morning and afternoon flights on the same day, only the morning score will count. All scores are entered in Golf Canada’s handicap system.
SCORECARDS: All scorecards are to be returned to the Pro Shop immediately following play. One scorecard for each tee time group should be kept listing first and last names.
All participants must validate that their scores are correct prior to the card being turned into the Pro Shop. Changes to the scorecards will not be made once they are received by Pro Shop staff. However, any data entry errors in GolfGenius can be corrected once the error has been validated against the group scorecard. We highly recommend that you keep your own score and check it against the group scorecard to be turned in.
LADIES DAY LOCAL RULES:
Ball Lost or Out of Bounds: If a ball is Lost or Out of Bounds Ladies Day participants may drop a ball 2 club lengths onto the fairway from the vicinity of where the ball is lost or out of bounds under a two-stroke penalty. This local rule is only to be used so players do not have to take the time to go back to the tee or location of their last shot in the instance a provisional ball was not played. However, it is strongly recommended to hit a provisional ball if you feel your ball may be Out of Bounds or Lost – especially beyond the green.
Hole #14 Drop Zone: If a Ladies Day participant is unable to cross the water hazard in two tries, the ball may be dropped in the designated Drop Zone for an additional one-stroke penalty. (Note that this scenario is adding 5 strokes to your last shot that did not go into the water. If two-strokes were made before the water, then the golfer is hitting their 7th stroke from the Drop Zone.)
WEEKLY GAMES:
At no additional cost, all participants are eligible for the following:
- Closest to Pin, Hole #4
- Closest to Pin, Hole #5
- Closest to Line, Hole #9
- Closest to Line, Hole #18
Optional weekly games, at additional cost, are available:
Birdies:
- For $2 participating players are eligible to win (prizes are split if more than one birdie)
- Any birdie (or eagle) will count as a win
- If there are no birdies in a week, the money will be carried over to the next week
50/50 Draw: Weekly 50/50 draws are held weekly through the pro shop.
CANCELLATION: Ladies Day will not be cancelled due to inclement weather, however it is possible that weekly games may not be available. It is up to the individual players to cancel their participation if they choose. Ladies Day will only be cancelled if the course is closed.
LADIES DAY CLOSING: The 2025 Ladies Day Closing event will take place in late September. The event will include:
- Nine holes of golf – usually a scramble format or similar
- Meal following golf
- Draw for 2026 Membership (see below)
- Many prizes that reward golf achievements while spreading prizes across as many players as possible who have played at least 9 rounds of golf with the group (not including Ladies Day Closing). Examples of prizes include divisional low gross and net; Ringer Board by division, most pars, most birdies, most eagles etc.
END OF SEASON MEMBERSHIP DRAW: The ownership of Berwick Heights Golf Course has generously provided a Full 2026 Membership which will be drawn at the end of the season. The details of the draw and eligibility are as follows:
- To be eligible for the draw, the golfer MUST complete at least 9 Ladies Days (9 or 18 holes) during the 2025 season. (Note that Ladies Day Closing and Nine and Dine events do not count.) The number of qualifying rounds may be adjusted if weather during the golf season has been extraordinary, for example the golf course was closed multiple times.
- Players will receive 1 ballot for each Ladies Day they participate in throughout the season, not including the Ladies Day Closing.
